Charity

Elvetham strives to be as considerate as possible in its normal day-to-day operations, but there is always room for more community-based giving.

We manage this both directly, such as responding to requests for donations, or indirectly, such as providing reduced rents for key workers.

Elvetham Grassroots Fund

We established the ‘Elvetham Grassroots Fund’ alongside the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Fund to support small local, voluntary and community groups in the Hampshire area. If you would like to read more about some of the organisations we have donated to click here.

Most recently, we've donated a series of small grants to a range of local charities. Please click here to find out more.

Elvetham Charities

Elvetham Charities was established in 1962 by the late Sir Richard A-G-Calthorpe, Bt. It provides almshouse accommodation and relief for those in need who live in the Elvetham and Hartley Wintney areas. Almshouses are unfurnished dwellings that aim to provide affordable, secure, convenient and comfortable accommodation for independent living.

The Charity is managed by a board of voluntary trustees, all of whom have specific knowledge of the local area. A member of the Calthorpe family also sits on the board. For further details or information, please contact the Secretary of Elvetham Charities on 01252 844817.

Staff Engagement

We promote the engagement of our staff with charitable activities and support their personal endeavours. We believe that the employment and engagement of those who are community minded positively impacts both the health of the local community and our service delivery.
